The costs are essentially the same.
Why? With the online edition, you will need a subscription to a music service in lieu of the audio CD Listening Set. The Naxos Music Library has all of the cuts on the CD Listening Set available for streaming in MP3 format, and the Online Edition links to those cuts. You can obtain a basic one-year subscription from Naxos for $19.95 per year. So, the price of the Online Edition plus a subscription from Naxos equals the price of the Hard Copy Edition. Naxos has other, more extensive plans as well. You will find literally thousands of additional cuts in the Naxos Music Library, and we encourage students to explore more music.
